When There Are Heart Attack Symptoms

When you feel like you or someone else may have a heart attack, stroke, seizure, or any other medical emergency, it is vital to call an ambulance. Here are some guidelines to follow when deciding if you should call an ambulance:

If you are experiencing chest pain that is not relieved by rest or over-the-counter medications and/or breathing becomes difficult, then it is recommended to call a hospital ambulance service. Chest pain that radiates to one arm or both arms, difficulty breathing with jaw tightness, and high fever are indications to call for help.

The Condition Is Life-Threatening

When someone seems to be in serious trouble, it’s essential to call an ambulance as soon as possible. This is especially true if the person is unresponsive, has a high fever, or is showing other signs of illness or injury that make their condition life-threatening.

In Case of Fits and High Fever

Fits are episodes of intense muscle spasms and can be caused by a variety of conditions, including epilepsy, meningitis, and Huntington’s disease. High fever can be an indication of a severe illness, such as pneumonia or meningitis.

If you experience a fit, do not resist it – simply lie down and allow the convulsions to subside. If you are experiencing a high fever, drink plenty of fluids and rest to reduce your body’s temperature. If you notice any other symptoms associated with a severe illness, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or confusion, seek medical attention immediately.

When There Is an Accident

In case of an accident, the first thing to do is to try and determine if anyone is injured. If so, start CPR if indicated. If someone is unconscious or unresponsive, DO NOT move them. Instead, call 911 and wait for the ambulance.

Be Responsible About When to Call an Ambulance

When it comes to medical emergencies, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to when to call an ambulance. Every person’s situation is unique, and the best way to determine when help is needed varies depending on the emergency.

However, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you wonder “should I call an ambulance”? don’t hesitate as we’ve given you a guideline. Not only will this provide immediate assistance, but it can also save a life.
