Florida Man August 10, 2019 – Pot Prepares You For Jesus
Florida Man is at it again, this time he was caught driving under the influence of marijuana and alcohol. But this probably isn’t the story of a DUI that you were expecting.
Police responded out to a call for an intoxicated male and found a Florida Man behind the wheel of his parked car. In the car, police found multiple different empty containers of alcohol.
When asked to hand over his driver’s license the Florida man handed over a vape pen with THC in it.
When asked as to why he was in the car getting drunk and high, the answer surprised officers. Apparently, you need to get high to be prepared to meet Jesus. Jesus was returning and all of the intoxications would help to prepare for his return.
The man claimed to be in town for a church convention. However, he did not get to attend, as he was arrested for DUI and Drug charges.
We are still waiting for Jesus to return though so that preparation and DUI were all for nothing. But that seems to be a growing trend with Florida Man.
Florida Man August 10, 2000 – Smuggling Freon?
In one of our oldest Florida Man stories we have talked about so far, we are going back to Florida man August 10, 2000. This one is about smuggling and not the type of smuggling Florida has become known for.
In this case, it was a type of chemicals known as CFCs, also known as Freon. Before we go any further, CFC’s are a chemical often used in aerosols, foams and packing materials, solvents, and refrigerants. They were banned by the Clean Air Act in 1976.
On August 10th, 2000, the EPA released a press release about a Florida man who attempted to smuggle 90 canisters of CFC-12 into the country on his boat.
They were hidden in multiple compartments across the boat and each canister was about 90 lbs. The canisters were found when stopped and searched by a Fort Lauderdale Marine Unit.
The unit discovered the cargo and the case was referred to the EPA and US Customs.
After the referral, the Florida Man and his accomplice face up to 5 years in prison.
We aren’t quite sure how they thought they were going to get away with hiding that much cargo.
Florida Man August 10, 2020 – Dying for Some Pizza
Florida Man loves his pizza, we all do. But like with many things, Florida Man takes his love of pizza to a whole new level. This shows the outrageous things that Florida Man was willing to do for pizza.
Deputies of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Florida Man on August 10, 2020, who was driving at a high rate of speed. The man did not stop and drove through a neighborhood before finally driving into a pond.
The Florida Man died in the pond, either unable to free himself or too stubborn to leave his car. A passenger was able to get out of the car.
The passenger told investigators that they were trying to get pizza. During the investigation, the passenger stated he kept telling the driver to slow down but he wouldn’t. That pizza was too important.
